Resumo

Abstract Potential dependent pH changes in the microcavity of the thin layer cause the appearance of absorption bands for phosphate ions in the solution. This disturbs the measurement of spectra for adsorbed phosphate species, and has to be accounted for in the analysis of spectral data. Literature data are analyzed in the light of the results presented here.
