ResumoA system has been developed to determine two inorganic selenium species Se(IV) and Se(VI). In this novel technique liquid chromatography (LC) is coupled to an atomic fluorescence spectrometer (AFS) using an ultrasonic nebulizer (USN) as interface. The effect of hydrogen and argon gas flow rates, nebulization temperature, loop volume, pump rate and phosphate buffer conditions were investigated. A simple on-column preconcentration method was worked out. The detection limit for Se(IV) and Se(VI) using this preconcentration method are 8.6 and 30 ng cm−3, respectively.
