Resumo

This paper presents an ethnographic analysis of the Tomato Festival, held annually in the city of Paty do Alferes (RJ), and enshrines the city’s agricultural production as one of the biggest tomato producers in Brazil. The analytical axis is centered on the examination of some aspects and events around which the party moves: advertising, concerts and politics.
