Macaron and Macaron on increased serum ferritin levels in hyperthyroidism (1). This report confirms our preliminary observations published in abstract form (2). Our initial investigation included 38 hyperthyroid patients, studied before and during therapy. A decrease of serum ferritin during antithyroid therapy was noted in most patients; 18 of the 20 patients, reaching the euthyroid state during this preliminary study, showed a fall in serum ferritin level. Our study currently includes 44 hyperthyroid patients who became euthyroid. In all but four patients, serum ferritin levels decreased during treatment,...References1. MACARONMACARON CZ.
