Resumo

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the breast is a rare breast cancer with a good prognosis. Its morphology is identical to its counterpart in the salivary glands. In this brief report, two cases of ACC of the breast are presented in which the diagnosis was established on a fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and correlated with subsequent examination of cell blocks of aspirate and tissue. The cytodiagnostic criteria for ACC of the breast are discussed. Diagn Cytopathol 1996;14:328–330. © 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
