Resumo

In response to the growing demand from business, industry and governments at all levels for the development of geographical data bases and geographic information systems, the Georgia Institute of Technology has proposed the development of an interdisciplinary research and education program in land information science. The program is designed to support a wide range of interdisciplinary applications in resource management and planning, economic development, county land records, modernization, computer mapping and remote sensing. Other applications will include infrastructure planning and engineering, environmental assessment and geophysical surveys.
