Early Frances Early is tenured in the History Department at Mount Saint Vincent University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her most recent book, A World Without War: How U.S. Feminists and Pacifists Resisted World War I (Syracuse University Press, 1997), focuses on women and gender in relation to twentiethcentury peace and civil liberties movements and earned her the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations 1999 Warren Kuehl Award in International and Peace History. A forthcoming anthology, co-edited with feminist historian Kathleen Kennedy, Athena's Daughters: New Women Warriors on Television, will be published by Syracuse University Press in the spring of 2003.Search for more papers by this author Francis H.
