ResumoABSTRACT The chemical composition of the essential oils of Cymbopogon schoenanthus (L.) Spreng., C. jwarancusa (Jones) Schult, and C. jwarancusa spp. olivieri (Boiss.) Soenarko, were investigated by GC and GC/MS. The major constituents were found to be 2-undecanone (14.68%) and limonene (19.54%) in C. schoenanthus, piperitone (64.71%) in C. jwarancusa and geranial (25.47%) and neral (17.98%) in C. jwarancusa subspecies olivieri. A high proportion of oxygenated sesquiterpenes (16.30%) were also found in the oil of C. jwarancusa.
