Resumothe other in a photophil phase, the inhibition caused by the interruption in the photophobe phase can only partially be overcome by a light interruption in a photophil phase either before or after the photophobe perturbation. Two-hour perturbations may initiate weak rhythms which interact with one another to some extent, however, they are not capable of altering the basic endogenous rhy.thm which is initiated by the 8-hour photoperiod.
