Resumo

Male rats with an anesthetized glans penis are incapable of intro-mitting. Topical anesthetization of the glans of spinal male rats reduced, but did not abolish, sexual reflexes. The latter finding is consistent with the notion that receptors which evoke the erectile and ejaculatory reflexes are located on the shaft and not the glans. Nonspinal male rats with a desensitized glans would appear to be incapable of intromission because of inability to detect the vaginal orfice rather than abolished erectile and ejaculatory reflexes.
