ResumoAcute influence of passive stretching and specific warm up in the performance of the maximum load in the 10rm testThe aim of this study was to verify the acute effect of two warm up protocols previously carried through to a 10 RM test in the leg press 45° exercise.Eleven individuals had volunteered for the study (6 men and 5 women), and they were submitted, previously, to two tests of 10 RM.The test has been preceded by two distinct warm up protocols. In the first day, the protocol consisted of 30 seconds of static stretching exercises for lower limbs and, in the second day, the protocol consisted of 20 repetitions of the same exercise with a light load. There was a 48 hours interval between the test applications and a 2-minutes interval between the warm up and the test. For statistical analyses, it was used t-student test to verify the differences found in the loads of both tests. No statistical difference was found between the warm up protocols (p<0.05).Either the stretching exercises as the specific warm up exercises, in the present volume, seems having no acute influence on the production of muscle strength in the 10 RM test.
