To the Editor. —It has recently come to our attention that the conjunctival melanin depositions that we described in the March, 1963, issue of theArchives of Ophthalmology(pp 317-321) had been examined histologically for the first time in 1938 by Dr. G. Biette of Florence, Italy and published in the Bollettino D'Oculistica in February of 1938. We incorrectly stated that the first histopathologic report of this entity was presented by Marchesani and Ullerich in 1951.
