Resumo

The rotational spectra of eight isotopic species of the hydrogen-bonded heterodimer H2S⋯HBr have been investigated by pulsed-nozzle, Fourier-transform microwave spectroscopy. The rotational constant 12(B0 + C0), the centrifugal distortion constant DJ, the Br-nuclear quadrupole coupling constant χaa, and the Br-spin-rotation coupling constant Mbb for the vibrational ground state are determined. The spectroscopic constants are interpreted in terms of a heterodimer in which a hydrogen bond is formed from HBr acting as the proton donor and the S atom in H2S acting as the proton acceptor. The angle between the HBr axis and the extension of the bisector of the angle ∠HSH is determined to be 96.5°.
