ResumoSUMMARY Coiling of the vertebral artery is described as an apparently rare cause of widening of one or more intervertebral foramina in t‐e re: viral spine. It appears to be more common in females, mainly on the left side and frequently at the level of C4‐5. It seems likely that the abnormality itself does not produce symptoms and is an incidental finding but nevertheless important to recognise in order that unnecessary investigation and surgery may be avoided.
