ResumoExperiments involving cholesterol labeling with stable isotope spiked molecules (octadeuterated cholesterol,3-4-13C-cholesterol,1-2-13C-acetate) were carried out to elucidate some points concerning cholesterol metabolism in healthy people. According to the sensitivity of each technique used for isotopic measurements, we consider the advantages of stable isotopes in such studies and the limits of results obtained.
