Resumo

The bimetallic complex [Fe2L(μ-OCH3)(OCH3)](BPh4) (1) has been obtained from the unsymmetrical heptadentate ligand H3L, which provides two different coordination environments for the two iron ions. X-ray data reveal a doubly bridged (one phenoxo and one methoxo) diferric complex containing one five-coordinated and one six-coordinated iron center. The two high spin FeIII centers are weakly antiferromagnetically coupled (J = −13 cm-1), and two redox processes are observed.
