Neutropenia and Cancer Infections

Four Southwest Oncology Group clinical trials in adult acute leukemia were conducted between June 1967 and January 1975 involving 741 adult patients. The trials involved Cytarabine (ARA-C) alone and in combination. The last patient started treatment over five years ago and 81 of 741 (11%) survived more than five years. The last death was at 9 ½ years with followup out to 13 ½ years.
