ResumoFour Southwest Oncology Group clinical trials in adult acute leukemia were conducted between June 1967 and January 1975 involving 741 adult patients. The trials involved Cytarabine (ARA-C) alone and in combination. The last patient started treatment over five years ago and 81 of 741 (11%) survived more than five years. The last death was at 9 ½ years with followup out to 13 ½ years.
