Resumo

In this article the author analyses Aleksandr Kabakovʼs 2004-2005 Moskovskie skazki ( Moscow Fairytales ), in which the writer transposes characters from both Western and Russian well-known fairytales, such as ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and ‘The Princess Frog’, to present-day Moscow. As a result all traditional motifs, characters and roles are adapted to modern times, morals and values are inverted. The Biblical story of Babylon undergoes a similar treatment.
