ResumoAbstract This study is focused on Kadro, a political movement gathered around the monthly review of the same name published between 1932 and 1934 in Turkey. Composed by former communists as Şevket Süreyya Aydemir alongside with prominent nationalist writers such as Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu, the movement aimed to develop Kemalism as a revolutionary ideology. The article analyses some of Kadro’s basic ideas and their impact on the debate within the ranks of Republican People’s Party.
