ResumoRearrangement of ethylene to hydrido and ethylidyne ligands bonded to two faces of the tetrahedral [Cp4Co4] skeleton (Cp = η5-C5H5) in [Cp4Co4(μ3-H)(μ-CCH3)] was observed upon heating a hexane solution of [CpCo(C2H4)2]; treatment of [CpCo(C2H4)2] with formaldehyde gave [Cp4Co4(μ3-CO)2], the X-ray structure of which is reported.
