ResumoThis journal article centres on the representation of masculinities in the film text Lincoln (Spielberg, 2012), following the four sites Pat Kirkham and Janet Thumim define for the study of masculinities in film: the body, action, the external world and the internal world (1993: 11). The textual analysis reveals that the use of the word and even its absence run through those four sites, defining the character performed by Daniel Day-Lewis.
