Resumo

Compressions of (water + t-butanol) have been determined as a function of composition at 298.15 K and pressures up to 142 MPa. The measurements have been made over the composition range up to 35 mass per cent of t-butanol. Partial molar volumes of the components at each pressure are calculated from the results together with available densities for the mixtures at atmospheric pressure. The composition dependence of the isothermal compressibilities for mixtures is described in terms of the partial compressibilities of the components.
