ResumoThis article presents a case study of the NC-PALS (North Carolina-Piedmont Automated Library System, Inc.) consortium's selection and implementation of the Ex Libris Primo Central discovery service, with the purpose of highlighting considerations, challenges, and concerns presented by our experiences. This case study may help inform planning and implementation of similar discovery services in small- and medium-sized libraries or consortia. Following a review of the literature on user behaviors and Web-scale discovery services, this study offers a detailed description of NC-PALS's experiences selecting and implementing Primo, giving attention to trials and triumphs along the way and identifying ongoing challenges that may hold significance for future implementations.
