Resumo

DISEASE produced by infestation by larvae of the order diptera is termed myiasis.1 The clinical features and epidemiologic factors in eight cases of furuncular myiasis occurring in metropolitan San Antonio, Texas, between August and October, 1972, are included in this report. Selected clinical data are presented in Table 1. The lesions appeared as one to five ulcers surrounded by nontender induration. In seven patients the lesion was located in the superior occipital region, and in one, in the left posterior parietal region. Motile larvae were readily visible. Two patients with noteworthy temperature elevation had associated streptococcal infections. All children had nits . . .
