Resumo

Heat capacities of ethanoic, propanoic, and butanoic acids have been measured at temperatures between 13 and 450 K. The enthalpies of fusion of the three compounds and the enthalpy of crystal-to-crystal transition of butanoic acid have also been measured. The samples used in the measurements were specially purified and the mole fraction of impurity in each sample was determined. Thermodynamic properties in the crystal and liquid states were calculated from the measurements.
