Resumo

Abstract The karyotypes of Roncus andreinii, Roncus tuberculatus, Roncus binaghii and Roncus ingaunus, are reported. The diploid chromosome number observed is: 2n = 52 in Roncus andreinii; 2n = 40 in Roncus tuberculatus; 2n = 26 in Roncus binaghii; 2n = 24 in Roncus ingaunus. The mechanism of sex determination is of the X0 type in Roncus andreinii and Roncus binaghii, while it is of the XY type in Roncus tuberculatus and in Roncus ingaunus. A comparison of the different karyotypes suggests that karyotype evolution occurred by means of centric fusions or dissociations. The phylogenetic relationships between the different species are also considered. Key words: Pseudoscorpionida Roncus KaryotypesPhylogenetic relationships
