ResumoStarting from the question of how extra-poetic content is incorporated into the work of art, an effort is made here to assess the translatability of the Indian rasa aesthetic by comparing it, on the one hand, to the problematic Aristotelian notion of katharsis and, on the other, by finding in its categories a way of classifying a variety of recent films
