Abstract Solubilities of benzene and toluene in mixtures of nitric and sulphuric acids of various compositions have been measured and also distribution coefficients. Correlations are presented to allow distribution coefficients to be predicted in acid mixtures of compositions typically used for aromatic nitration in industry.
