Resumo

Quinizarin adsorbed on γ-alumina was investigated with the optical high resolution methods fluorescence line narrowing (FLN) and persistent spectral hole burning (PSHB). Fluorescence excitation spectra showed an absorption red shift of about 35 nm for adsorbed quinizarin. The FLN spctra indicate a coupling of low frequency adsorbate motions to the electronic transitions of the adsorbed molecules. Such motions may represent an effective dephasing mechanism leading to an increased width of spectral holes when compared to matrixdoped molecules.
