Crystals of the serine protease inhibitor CI-2 from the high-lysine barley Hiproly, suitable for high-resolution X-ray crystallographic analysis have been grown from ammonium sulphate solution by vapour diffusion. The space group is P622 with unit cell dimensions a = b = 69·1(1) Å, c = 52·9(1) Å and γ = 120°. There is one molecule of molecular weight 9100 per asymmetric unit.
