Euphorbia from the foothills of the volcanic Jabal Urays massif, on the coast of the Gulf of Aden, is described as a species new to science and illustrated. It was formerly identified with E. triaculeata from the coastal plains of the Red Sea, but differs even habitually by medusoid growth similar to E. actinoclada. The species is named in honour of Prof. Werner Greuter.
