Resumo

A detailed description is given of an ultrasonic imaging system which is composed of commercial units: programmable ultrasonic generator-receiver, programmable scanning table, 64 K microcomputer. The programming for automatic search for echoes, C-scanning, data and data storage (echo amplitude and delay time) acquisition on diskette unit is described. The ultrasonic maps are built from these data either through an amplitude-position perspective view in the scanning plan or through a planar set of constant-amplitude regions. Some ultrasonic mappings obtained with a focused beam and showing the application field of the system are briefly presented.
