ResumoA morphologically slow muscle fiber was observed, as well as two types of twitch fibers. The slow fiber had ill-defined myofibrils, little sarcoplasmic reticulum, few transverse tubules, and numerous small mitochondria. The two twitch fibers are similar, respectively, to white and red fibers of skeletal muscle. A laminated structure was also observed.
