An isolated left humerus from the Cretaceous toothed bird Ichthyornis is described. The fossil comes from the Vimy Member of the Kaskapau Formation at Watino, Alberta, and is early Turonian in age. The Watino specimen is the oldest well authenticated record of Ichthyornis and the oldest Cretaceous skeletal fossil of a bird from the Western Hemisphere. The wide geographic distribution of Ichthyornis within the Western Interior of North America is in keeping with nomadic habits, as inferred from strongly flying modern marine birds.
