Resumo

Densities, viscosities, and refractive indexes of the ternary system {x1 propyl propanoate + x2 hexane + (1 − x1 − x2) benzene} and of the corresponding binary mixtures {x1 propyl propanoate + x2 hexane}, {x1 propyl propanoate + x2 benzene}, and {x1 hexane + x2 benzene} have been measured at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure, over the whole composition range. The excess molar volumes, viscosity deviations, and changes of refractive index on mixing were calculated from experimental measurements. These results were further fitted to the polynomial relation to estimate the coefficients and standard errors. All the experimental values were compared with the results obtained with empirical expressions for estimating ternary properties from binary data.
