ResumoA theoretical study of the effect of variable viscosity on the classical Falkner–Skan flow is presented in this paper. The results are obtained with the direct numerical solution of the boundary layer equations. Velocity and temperature profiles are shown graphically and wall heat transfer and wall shear stress are listed in tables for Prandtl numbers from 1 to 10 000. The effect of different parameters on the flow field is discussed.
