Resumo

Using an in vitro colony method, we tested the effect of 1 tug/g misonidazole on a human melanoma transplanted into nude mice. The enhancement ratios were 1.6 when the cells were plated immediately after irradiation and 2.0 when plating was done after a delay of 6 hr.Whereas repair of potentially lethal damage (PLD) was demonstrated in cells without misonidazole, with the drug the surviving fraction was the same immediately or 6 hr after irradiation. Our interpretation of this finding is discussed.
