Post-excavation work, including the continuation of clearance in the EB IV(EB–MB) cemetery (Tiwal esh-Sharqi: Appendix II) were carried out at the new archaeological station of Deir 'Alla through the kindness of Yarmouk University, the Department of Antiquities and Leiden University. Work and storage space were made available by the British Institute at Amman for Archaeology and History and the American Center for Oriental Research (ACOR) in Amman. Staff for the six-week long season at Umm Hammad consisted of the writer, A. V. G. Betts and I. Ruben. The Department of Antiquities was represented by Mr. Sa'ad Hadidi.
