ResumoLight scattering from a multicomponent fluid mixture, ammonium sulfate-water-ethanol-benzene, has been studied near its tricritical point. From the angular dependence of the scattering intensity, tricritical singularities for the concentration susceptibility and for the correlation length were found to diverge with mean-field-value exponents. Rayleigh linewidths measured both above and below the tricritical temperature were compared with the existing theories.
