Between June 1982 and June 1986 we cultured all fecal samples that were submitted to the Regional Public Health Laboratory in Tilburg forAeromonas. Unlike in the study of Holmberg and associates, we used a semiselective blood agar plate with ampicillin, 10 mg/L (2), with which we could detect small numbers ofAeromonasin fecal samples as well.
