The Popularization of Folk Songs Through Children's Picture Books Shirley B. Baird (bio) While children's picture books play a large part in the popularization and preservation of our musical heritage of folk songs, these books are scattered under a variety of subject headings which makes it difficult to get a bibliographic handle on them. The following is a list of headings under which I found entries related to folk songs.
