Resumo

In mice infected by leukemia virus Rauscher, the addition of sodium selenite to the drinking water had an inhibitory effect on spleen growth. Sodium selenite, when added to bovine leukemia virus in vitro, markedly depressed reverse transcriptase activity. The in vitro results may provide a key to explain the in vivo observations.
