We have recently seen an exception to this rule: a hemolytic transfusion reaction after administration of a small quantity of incompatible plasma in a platelet concentrate.A 45-year-old A1Rh0, (D) positive man had pancytopenia after chemotherapy for erythroleukemia. He had received group A erythrocytes, groups A and AB plasma, and platelet concentrates (including some from donors of groups O and B) without incident. He had been moderately...References1.
