ResumoIn patients recovering from diabetic coma it is possible to construct internal osmolal balances. These probably give a more sensitive and accurate measure of the metabolic changes which underlie clinical recovery than glucose and electrolyte estimations. The internal osmolal balance in 6 patients showed a characteristic pattern, indicating anabolic overactivity.
