Resumo

Abstract Heats of adsorption and mass transfer coefficients of n-hexane and 3-methylpentane in Y and ZSM-20 zeolites were estimated by combined thermogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetric measurements. The heats of adsorption (at low uptake) are higher on Y zeolite than on ZSM-20, reflecting structural differences between these zeolites. The mass transfer coefficients are also higher for Y zeolite and a cation effect seems to be detected for the 3-methylpentane molecule on the Na+ form of this zeolite.
