ResumoThe Medical Academy of Bialystok had the privilege of hosting the International Conference on ‘Non Small Cell Lung Cancer: Standards and New Trends in Diagnosis and Therapy’. This conference, organized under the scientific auspices of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Lung Cancer (EORTC) took place in October 5–7, 2001. The honorary patronage of the conference was conceded by Aleksander Kwaśniewski, the President of the Republic of Poland and the Honorary Committee included Professor Heine H. Hansen (Denmark), Executive Director of the IASLC and Professor Zbigniew Puchalski (Poland), Rector of the Medical Academy of Bialystok.
