ResumoThe ligands 2,3,4.-tri-O-methyl-6-(diphenyl phosphino)-α-D-glucopyranosyl- 2', 3',4'-tri-O-niethyl-6 '-(diphenyl phosphino)-α-D-glucopyranoside (αα-TREDIP) and the anomer ββ-TREDIP have been prepared from dimesylate precursors. They form a range of rhodium complexes in which the phosphines can be mutually cis or trans, depending on the other ligands present. The αα-anomer shows more propensity for trans-complexation then the ββ-anomer, and this may be explained on conformational grounds.
