Chemical and Physical Properties in Aqueous Solutions

Excess volumes of n-octanol + acetonitrile, + butyronitrile, + nitromethane, and + nitroethane were measured using a continuous-dilution dilatometer over the entire mole-fraction range at 303.15 K. All four mixtures exhibit positive excess volumes. The results were used to estimate the excess partial molar volumes of the components.
