ResumoAbstract Lewis acid catalyzed cycloaddition reactions of ethyl glyoxylate imines to dihydrofuran and indene yield substituted hexahydrofuro[3,2‐ c ]‐ and tetrahydro‐7 H ‐indeno[2,1‐ c ]quinolines respectively. Oxidation of the adducts with 2,3‐dichloro‐5,6‐dicyanobenzoquinone affords the corresponding aromatic compounds.
