Este artigo analisa o bairro Lagoinha, que está localizado na região pericentral de Belo Horizonte. O objetivo do mesmo é discutir o processo de isolamento que o bairro vem assumindo ao longo do tempo, numa dicotomia de proximidade e distância: próximo do centro, mas ao mesmo tempo distante, pela dificuldade de acesso. A hipótese é de que, no seu processo de conformação, em área próxima à linha férrea, isso atuou como atrativo mas, de outro modo, constituiu uma relação negativa, à qual se somam inúmeras intervenções que o isolaram do restante da cidade. Para tal, foi feita uma pesquisa qualitativa na qual, em um primeiro momento, foram realizadas entrevistas com os moradores, e, em um segundo momento, foram aplicados questionários. Como ponto de partida, será abordada a história do bairro, trazendo suas transformações e dinâmicas. Em seguida discutir-se-á a situação de isolamento advinda das intervenções urbanas que suprimem seus espaços e engendram questões sociais complexas para seus moradores, além de outros fatores que contribuíram para tal isolamento, tais como a existência de cemitério, do Ribeirão Arrudas, delegacia e avenidas. AbstractThis article analyze the neighbourhood of Lagoinha, located in the surroundings of Belo Horizonte´s city centre. The aim was discuss a process of isolation that the neighbourhood has assumed over time, a dichotomy closeness and distance, near the centre, but at the same time far by the difficulty of access. The hypothesis is that in the process of forming, in an area near the railway line, it was constituted as an attractive, in other, a negative relationship where the total number of interventions that isolated from the rest of the city. For this was a qualitative research in which, at first, I conducted interviews with residents, and a second phase, questionnaires were applied. As a starting point, will look at the history of the neighborhood bringing their dynamic and changes. Then, will discuss the situation arising out of isolation of urban interventions that that suppress their spaces and engender complex social issues for its residents, and other factors that contributed to such isolation, such as the existence of the cemetery, the Ribeirão Arrudas, police and avenues.Key Words: Neighbourhood Lagoinha; railway line; urban interventions; isolation and ways of life.
